Elena Salmistraro is a young Italian designer whose approach is ironic, cheerful, colourful, and conceptual.

Having graduated from Milan’s Polytechnic in 2008, one year later, in partnership with architect Angelo Stoli, she set up her own firm, where she has been engaged ever since in architectural and design projects.

She works as a product designer and artist/illustrator for leading companies on the international creative scene, comprising Apple, Disney, Ikea, Vitra, Moooi, Alessi, Cappellini, Huawei, Lavazza, Nike, Bosa, Seletti, De Castelli, Cc-Tapis, Timberland, Replay, LuisaViaRoma, Marella, Yoox, Cedit and many more. She also collaborates with prestigious Art and Design Galleries.

In 2017, she was named Ambassador of Italian Design in the World during “Italian Design Day”, an activity promoted by the Triennale di Milano. Also in 2017, she won the “Best Emerging Designer Award” at the Salone del Mobile – “Salone del Mobile Milano Award”. In 2018 she was named Ambassador of the Brera Design District for the FuoriSalone event, staged during the Salone del Mobile di Milano. In 2018 she was awarded the “Premio Icona” by Marmomac for her “Marea” project.

She has been awarded several important international prizes such as the “Good Design Awards”, “Archiproducts Awards”, “ADI Ceramic & Bathroom Award”, “Icon Awards”, “Salone del Mobile Award”, “Big See Award”, among others.

Today, Elena Salmistraro collaborates with prestigious international brands and is acclaimed by the press worldwide.
