ALESSIO PINTO

Born in Rome in 1968, Alessio Pinto grew up in a small rural village near Rome, where he started work in the small building firm run by his father.

He attended the Faculty of Architecture at the Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza”, from where he graduated in 1999. In 2000, he attended the Master’s Degree course in Industrial Design at the Domus Academy in Milan, graduating with an interior lighting project he had developed with Fabbian Illuminazione. He has lived and worked in Milan from early in 2005, where he collaborates as an architect and designer with prominent design firms. It was during his university studies that he became particularly interested in ceramic sanitary fixtures and visited various firms of the ceramic district of Civita Castellana, close to the village he grew up in.

While in Milan, he contacted Ceramica Flaminia and in 2005 was invited to collaborate with the company on a permanent basis. From then on, he has worked in the Flaminia design department where he is engaged in developing new products, as well as collaborating with the Art Direction of Flaminia in the ambit of image styling and brand communications.

He designed the Esagona wood floor for the company Xilo1934. He collaborates with the company OLI for which he has designed the flush plate “Less is more”, the winner of important awards: Red Dot Design Award – Winner 2021, Archiproducts Design Awards – Longlisted e Winner 2021 e IF Design Award.

 

He also designed the Volo line of shower trays for Flaminia.
