ROMANO ADOLINI

Born in (VT) in 1956, Romano Adolini obtained a degree in architecture in 1982 from the University “La Sapienza” in Rome where, following an apprenticeship, he opened his own studio in 1984.

Along with an initial and intense activity collaborating with other firms, which enabled him to handle large-scale public projects, he also conducted a personal and more intimate design research into architectural topics closely linked to his local environment.

This same attention to his roots soon led him to explore the world of ceramics, an industry historically associated with the area, which is represented today by the production of ceramic sanitary ware in the industrial district of Civita Castellana, a pole of international standing.

In the late nineties, when the industry opened its doors to design, Adolini worked on several bathroom projects. This experience marked the start of his industrial design activity which he alternates with architectural projects, and which led to his collaborations with the most important companies operating in this industry.

Between 2011 and 2016, he taught industrial product design for the Degree course in Design of the Faculty of Architecture at Ferrara University.

For Flaminia he designed the Una collection of sanitary ware and built-in washbasins.
