Born in Civita Castellana in 1975, Abati studied art and attended the Faculty of Architecture of “La Sapienza” University in Rome. From the outset, he focused his attention on images and soon acquired precise methods of analysis and a wide experience as a creator of living spaces and objects. In 1998, he joined the firm of Paolo Portoghesi, engaged in numerous projects and research work into new stylistic codes.

Since 2003 he has conducted his activity as a self-employed professional, collaborating with fashion and entertainment agencies, setting up special venues and handling scenic design projects for the theatre. Quite naturally, he happened to encounter some of the top Italian ceramic producers and started to collaborate with GSG Ceramic Design towards the creation of some concept baths of great emotional impact. In 2010 he designed the Albero shower system for Flaminia, a most appealing bathroom furnishing project. He is currently engaged in the art direction of various companies, with the accent on design and communication activities.
