Working across furniture, lighting, sculptural objects and public-space design, he approaches every project by first understanding the object: how it is used and why it exists.
From there, form, material and proportion naturally follow. His work has been realised in airports, embassies, commercial environments and public spaces, including Hong Kong Central Station.
His work has received international recognition, including the German Design Award and the New York Design Award. In 2010, he was presented with the New Entrepreneur of the Year Award by H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. His work
has also been featured in Men in Black 3.
His first design to enter production, the Union Bench, was installed at the U.S. Embassy in Stockholm, where it was later listed as a Cultural Heritage asset by the Embassy’s Office of Cultural Heritage and added to the Embassy’s Cultural Heritage collection in recognition of its artistic merit, value and provenance.
His work is guided by a simple belief: every object should justify its existence through function, proportion and longevity.
